Meditation Tip 1-Grounding


It is important to remain grounded when doing any meditation or energy work. An easy way to do this is through the process of visualisation.

Firstly, find a place where you will not be disturbed, turn off the phone and all electrical appliances, especially TVs, radios etc. as these can interfere with your energy frequencies.

Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your hands resting on your lap, palms up.  If you wish you can place your thumb and forefinger together in what is known as a Mudra.  Begin by taking a deep breath through your nostrils and relax, allowing all the tension in your shoulders and neck to ease and feel the rest of your body begin to relax.  Again take a deep breath and on the in-breath fill your lungs from your naval upwards, do not not just breathe with your chest, this is Yogic breathing. Focus your attention on your Root Chakra and visualise the colour Red.

On the out-breath visualise red branches or stems extending from your Root Chakra down through your legs, and then down through your feet, moving through the ground beneath your feet then down through the earth until you visualise them connecting with the earths core.

Remain like this for 5 minutes, all the time focusing on your breath.

Congratulations! You are now ready to move on to the next stage of meditation.
